Bugged Lurker boots?!

At the very beginning of the game in the secret room behind you, you get the Lurker boots that give you a +5 to evasion.
However once you equip a torch or a weapon the evasion bonus disappears.
This does not happen with the pc version.
Could someone confirm this for me.
Hopefully it is just a bug with the boots and doesn't affect all items with an evasion bonus.

Gosh, 40 views and no one can confirm this for me?
Please, if you have the iPad version all I'm asking is you start a new game and just check if the bug happens to you.
Should take no more than a couple of minutes....please.

Yes, the bug is there...didn't know it would help you to have it confirmed
