I have found out that this is one of the GoG games that needs a manual script written to get it into a Wine wrapper.

This is the information I got from a Dev at the PlayOnMac site.

For any large enough GOG installer (the ones that take more than 9 minutes to install, or something like that), you'll probably run into bug #32451 https://bugs.winehq.org/show_bug.cgi?id=32451

Workaround is to supply the installer with a /nogui parameter, but that cannot be done thru manual installation, only scripting.

Seems us GoG game owners need a script written to run their version in a wrapper

I know he states the 9min marker but it does not take that long before it errors, I did give him all the error details so I have to trust
he knows the problem from the information given on the error received.

You could use a windows pc(or virtual machine that runs windows) to run the installer and to extract the files - once they are extracted you can start the game using wine with no issues(depending on version and linux distribution).

I tried that, I took the Installed game folder from a windows install, put it into a Wine wrapper but the wine icon just bounces
then just shuts down.

Please tell me more if you know how I build the wrapper to work.

Sorry my mistake, I have changed the OP, this is for the Mac version.
