Is this a bug or intentional?

My alchemist is using a sack for putting all reagents inside. Whenever a put an already existing reagent, it takes up another slot instead of stack automatically. Can anyone confirm?

alchemist can multiply your plants and they just "grow" on another empty slot

but i dont count my plants to confirm that so maby im not right:)

Items in general don't stack automatically with others in containers. I keep ingredients in my main inventory. Less hassle.

Unfortunately, herbs (alchemist reagents) don't stack up properly for me even if dropped directly into invetory (not using containers).

When you add items to inventory they stack automatically, even herbs (just checked).

There is no way to "automatically stack" items inside containers because the only way to put items into containers is by manually placing them inside containers. It would be really confusing if stuff would be automatically put inside containers when you're adding them to backpack by click an item on the small portraits.

Maybe the reason I see appearing herbs in my inventory is that they are growing anew, for my alchemist.
