edit. I'm going to guess I have a Flash problem. Microsoft help forums are full of reports of problems with Flash and IE (I'm at the latest versions with Win8.1)

edit 2. I've loaded Google Chrome and now the embedded video appears OK. I've also had lots of problems on yahoo mail which I now suspect are also caused by flash issues. A first test indicates Chrome may resolve my Yahoo mail problems also.
