Equipment that makes you weak vs a specific damage?

I'm trying to make a set of armour with a flawed quality (-5 resist shock) how would I do that?
It won't let me do resistShock = -5 because of something about a nil value.

Also, you can't appear to put custom items in the addItem slot of altars of alcoves.

I don't know about the resistance, but I was able to put a custom item into an alcove just fine.

Maybe it's just altars then.

did you reload the map project after adding the item?

Has anyone figured out how to give a negative value for resistance yet?
