GPU Overheating

My GPU keeps over heating when I play this game: NVidea GeForce 8800 GT. About every 10-15 minutes of game play it'll crash, my monotors will go dead and I have to restart my computer. I've never seen this on any other game before.
Is there any advice on how to mitigate this problem?
Are there any fixes coming up to help this problem?

Ok, I think I found some settings that stabilize my GPU Temperature.
1.) Though I've had Vertical Sync enabled, keep it enabled, your GPU Load goes off the charts otherwise.
2.) The big thing for me was changing the Resolution from 1680x1050 to a smaller screen size: 1280x800.
3.) Also setting Texture Resolution, Texure Filtering, Shadow Quality, and SSAO Quality to the lowest settings help.
These changes brought me down from 80% GPU load to 25% GPU load so that my GPU temp is stabalizing at about +2-3 degrees C. Beforehand within a matter of a minute the GPU temp would rise about 15 degrees C.

Google dxtory. It is a program that has a FPS limiting option on it. It will function in unlicensed mode. Enable the limiter and set it to 60 FPS or lower if you still have problems.
