Grimrock

Near the end of lvl 9, in the spiral floor that leads to lvl 10, there is a tiny hidden switch near the beginning. Any clue, what it does?

It opens the wall behind your back (I mean entrance to the spiral area). It closes when you engage the ogre(s) or so.
