Lvl 4/5 - Trials of Thought - My thought machine don't work

I've gotten past the teleporter room so many times I can literally do it without looking. I've gotten past the 3 pit room. It's at the next area that I'm stuck. The room with the four pits on either side you walk into the room, the teleporter in the middle
I've found the secret button in the nook before the room, that closes two of the pits. I've run there, and hit the brick-button over the second pit, and then taken a single step to the left back towards the walkway. Then I fall. What does this button do? Do I need to get back to the walkway after hitting this button? Or just hit it for something elsewhere?
I've done all but one room
the room with the ticking plate, and the teleporter that just flashes for a moment. I may have screwed my self on that one. I tossed my last stone into the teleporter, and it just ended up on the other side of the gate to my left, doing nothing, but too far to grab.
Help please. I feel so stupid here...

The first half you're on to the right track. If you think about it you'll know what the button does and where to go. You'll just have to be faster so make sure you're not over-encumbered.
The second half of your query you should be able to do with any item. I can't remember the exact solution but timing is important.

Second half requires a real throwing weapon from your hand slot.

for the "Tide and Time" count-down teleporter click here.
The answer is that if you cannot run into the teleporter after the count-down, then you must be there already.
Place an item on the count-down plate and wait on the spot where the teleporter flashes up.

The button on the wall in the corner of the room, removes the teleporter over the centre and opens a trapdoor to the floor below and a secret room.

Thanks everyone. I finished the rest of the floor while I waited for replies,
but placing the scrolls, turned off the teleporters. So I think I screwed my self over for getting that it seems.
EDIT: Nevermind that last bit.

You can turn them back on. Maybe look where all those damn critters came out of...?

Just figured that out. I had hit it after I finished them off, but I thought it had just opened the next floor.

Take a print screen in game, then use something like

If you're using Steam and have set up sharing options, you can also take screenshots with Steam and share them from there.
