Does the player party canonically survive?

Does the king learn about the secrets of Grimrock?

More importantly, did they cash in the 7 treasures and live a life of luxury?



Because from the looks of it, not much was left after we finish the game, making it all a bit ... pointless maybe, or redundant. I don't know. Seems weird to end the game with everyone dead.

I choose to believe that the exact timing of the images we see is not literal, so that they made it to safety beyond the blast zone.

Indeed but compared to Grimrock 2, the ending is a bit more ambiguous.
