too dark underwater?

Hi
I'm finding it too dark underwater in The Flooded Dungeon.
I have the Orb of radiance and have turned the graphics detail down.
anybody got any other tips...

Did you also use the orb's special attack before heading there? Just holding the orb won't cause magical light as in LoG 1.

This is without light
and this is with light cast by the orb
Quite a difference to me

I was not holding the attack button for long enough...........it started to fizz then I let go, and rush in........
