Thanks for the tip about setting screen resolution to 640x480 in the config file. I tried it.
L12 and L13 used slightly less than 100% GPU in that mode and FPS was consistently near 30.
The L13 combat was ok without having to resort to the cheatengine.
Trying 800x600 resolution the FPS dropped slightly in L12 to 27-28 FPS but the game was playable.
Time to do the cpu upgrade (irrespective of its effect on LoG).
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions.

Re: Speed of AMD imbedded graphics
The cpu upgrade is done.
The windows Performance Information and Tools shows a cpu number of 6.2 now, it was 4.3. memory perf is now 7.1 was 5.9. Graphics is 4.2 was 3.9.
I just did a quick 2 minute jump into L12 and it appears slightly better with the upgrade. Likely because the memory is now running 1333 instead of 1066.
The game play still seems a bit out of sync with the graphics which is running about 20fps in 1024x768 on L12. But, it might be playable now without cheatengine or reducing graphics resolution with the cfg file.
Taking the laptop apart was the first time I encountered mini-ZIF connectors. education! I broke a couple of the zifs and used a drop of glue on the connectors when I put them back together. It won't come apart again!!!! surprisingly, everything works OK.
I'll start another episode soon.

Thanks for the info. And I think you are right, as the HD 4250 use shared memory, also the GPU performance should benefit from higher RAM bandwidth.steyrhahn wrote:The cpu upgrade is done.

I can't believe you operated on a laptop, those things are put together so tight it's completely nerve-wracking to deal with.

Re: Speed of AMD imbedded graphics
Even with the cpu and memory upgrade, the graphics are enough out of sync with the game at times that I've had to resort to use of the Cheat Engine speed hack.
Oh well. I have a new desktop that I am getting set up,and will move the game there soon.

Also, try windowed mode instead of borderless.
The FORCE is with me!!!
Re: Speed of AMD imbedded graphics
OK. I'll try it again. The reason I stopped using windows mode is that evey once in a while I'd mouse click the [X] to close the window by mistake when the game play was fast.Brodie301 wrote:Also, try windowed mode instead of borderless.
Use of my laptop for games won't last long, once I get my new-faster desktop functional.
