tomb of rites room with fireball and teleports

does any1 can help resolve that riddle. i have activated hidden button and redirected fireball towards door, but have no clue how to open it ? there are pits blocking way to the door and niche with a key, there is also locked gate next to hidden switch...

what I could never understand is why it is called sacrifice.
I initially thought I had to kill myself so I stood and ate fireballs. Maybe my simple mind missed something but I did not sacrifice anything in that room.

edit:
now I get it. I figured it out as I ran away from that room. It is not about me as a sacrifice but the enemies. When I ran off they got burned to death chasing me. cool
