Works like a kick in the crotch compared to chars that have more strength and/or the fitting skills. Of course it's possible - but it's no fun at all when you run out of energy. First you have to get into a clicking frenzy when you want to dodge (slide) around while trying to cast spells at the same time. If you have some wands and orbs in your hands and equipped shields then switching to throwing weapons during combat is also not easy. And then these weapons don't do al lot of damage because you lack strength and skill or you don't hit a lot because your accuracy is low.
So - compared to most (or every) other party constellation it's difficult. I will not discuss this further because in this case a have the patent on truth.
And what's your problem with mages wielding staffs anyway? That's not really an extraordinary thing to think of. And if there will be staffs (who knows), then why not ask for
a) a skill
and
b) a reach-functionality?
I don't understand why you are constantly gainsaying me.
Maybe my avatar is to manly...
Almost forgot:
It's hard to imagine a rogue poking at something with a mace from the backrow; maybe because maces are not made for such precise thrust attacks.Dr.Disaster wrote: It's hard to imagine a rogue poking at something with a quaterstaff from the backrow; maybe because staffs are not made for such precise thrust attacks.

So... hard to imagine but a reality in LoG1...
