[OT] using HDTV for a monitor

I'm setting up a new system. Its an I7 (3770). It came with a Nividia GT620 graphics card with both a VGA and HDMI connector.

Question. It appears that state of the art TV systems have HDMI and many have VGA connectors. Reading on some tech tip forums, suggests some people are using HDTV sets instead of computer monitors.

The HDTV sets appear to be less expensive now than comparable monitors. Comparable meaning 120hz, 1920x1080 HD, <5ms response. A local store just received a shipment of Vizio Razor LED 32inch and 42inch HDTV's that are quite a good price.

I was seriously thinking about buying one of the 32inch HDTV's for computer use. I don't know anyone who has one where I can try it. So I'm curious what anyone has experienced, good or bad. I'm thinking the 42inch would be too large.

I believe there is no magic bullet deal, but rather you simply get what you pay for. TVs aren't really meant to be seen up very close, the pixel density is MUCH lower than monitors, so they will look crappy up close. If you don't mind this, and just want HUGE, then that's your decision.

I am using a 40" Samsung 3D tv as one of my monitors and I find myself always moving the windows over to it.
Just looks better and much easier to read.
