Game doesn't launch - grimrock.exe shuts down

Hi,

for some reason the game no longer launches, clicking either the link on the desktop OR the grimrock.exe in the steamapps folder directly. This was not always the case, when i bought the game I was able to play it without any problems. When clicking grimrock.exe, it will instantly tell me there is an error and it has to be shut down.

I've got the steamversion, running on an Windows XP machine.

The error report states the following:
AppName: grimrock.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName: msvcr100.dll
ModVer: 10.0.40219.1 Offset: 00002018

I have found several forum entries which indicated reinstalling the vcredist might solve a problem that involves msvcr100.dll, unfortunately it did not. I deinstalled and reinstalled the game and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x86 Redistributable several times, to no affect. I even tried the solution found here in the forum of manually adding the msvcr100.dll, it did not work either. Reverting to older versions did not help as well.
The only thing that actually had an effect was removing the msvcr100.dll completely, then the error changed to "msvcr100.dll was not found".

Would be very grateful for help, wanted to continue Grimrock today and now I have been looking for a solution to get it running again for several hours without success -.-

you could also try reinstalling (on top) directX

Tried that, installing direct X again (and newest nvidia drivers as well) didn't fix it, same error everytime i try to launch the game. -.-

Did you try to deinstall/eraze every installed Visual studio component on your PC before re-installation of the visual studio c++ libs? My guess would be your installation is corrupted and on reinstall the installer don't detect this and installs nothing because he thinks you have already the latest version....
